The Biocycle Farm is a community asset in many ways. Besides being an effective, natural, wastewater management tool, the farm provides examples of sustainability, soil and wetland management, resource recovery and reuse, carbon cycling, and phytoremediation – the use of trees for pollution reduction.

Research

The MWMC welcomes interest in constructive research and studies to further the field of biosolids, recycled water, natural treatment systems, and other aspects of Biocycle Farm operations. Past studies and collaborations have included researchers with Oregon State University, Washington State University, and the University of British Columbia.

Educational Tours

The MWMC’s Biosolids Management Facility and Biocycle Farm provide great opportunities to engage students, professionals, and others in the science of biosolids processing and use, recycled water use, and the environmental applications of poplar trees. Past educational tours have included local middle and high schools, University of Oregon classes, and OSU Extension workshops.
