Regional Facilities
The MWMC cleans an average of 35 million gallons of wastewater a day for more than 220,000 customers in the Eugene-Springfield area. The wastewater is collected by a vast system of local (Eugene and Springfield) and regional sewer lines and pump stations and routed to the regional treatment plant on River Avenue in Eugene.
The MWMC is responsible for maintaining the regional wastewater facilities which includes the regional wastewater treatment plant (also known as the Water Pollution Control Facility), the Biosolids Management Facility, the poplar plantation Biocycle Farm, and the Beneficial Reuse Site.
